BILLERICAY Town star Bradley Stevenson has expressed his disappointment after missing out on the Isthmian Premier Division play-offs.

Stevenson ended the campaign with 46 goal involvements for Town.

But it was not enough to secure a top five finish for Gary McCann's side.

"I think it's an underachieving season for the group that was put together," said Stevenson.

"It's very gutting and frustrating to miss out on the play-offs as I really wanted to show case on the big stage and there’s no better place than that."

Town ended the season sixth in the standings, one place and three points below the play-offs.

But Billericay signed off in style for the summer with a sixth win in succession after beating Margate 5-3 on Saturday,

And Stevenson, who scored twice in the victory, felt it was a strong display at New Lodge.

"It was a great performance," said Stevenson.

"We came out of the traps quickly and I really enjoyed it, getting a hat-trick of goal involvements."

But that is nothing new for Stevenson this season.

"On a personal note, it's been my best season yet with 26 goals and 20 assists," said Stevenson.

"I'm really proud of myself and f I’m a Billericay player next season it will be third time lucky getting the club promoted."

Alfie Cerulli, Ollie Peters and Richard Asamoah also netted for Town against already relegated Margate who parted company with boss Mark Stimson after the game.
