SIX bikes totalling a five-figure sum were stolen in a burglary incident in Basildon.

An investigation has been launched following the incident in Wash Road which was reported on Friday, March 29.

Four motocross bikes and two mountain bikes with a combined value of about £35,000 were stolen.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the location of the bikes and identify those responsible, with police appealing for the public’s help to locate the six stolen bikes.

A spokesman said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have any information which could assist with this investigation to contact us, quoting reference number 42/59621/24."
